What is Beta BioThane?
Beta BioThane® is a web coated nylon that is quite simply the best material available in the equine marketplace. It is stronger and more durable than nylon or leather. It is also easy to clean and completely hassle free. It is soft, supple & extremely pliable. A must have for any equestrian as it has a better feel than leather or nylon. It is more comfortable for not only the rider but the horse as well.
Will Beta BioThane always look this good?
It is the most durable, longest lasting material available. Unlike nylon it will not fade with time, its color will stay true even after years of use. Best of all it rinses off easily with soap & water. To quickly clean dirt around stitching wash it in your washing machine (inside a laundry bag or pillow case). It is also top rack dish washer safe. It will come out looking brand new, 5, 10 even 20 years later!
How does Beta BioThane® fit the horse? Will it rub or hurt the horse?
Your horse will appreciate the fact that Beta Biothane is more comfortable than leather. Since it does not absorb moisture or sweat it is less likely to rub or irritate your horse. The web coating also serves as padding and is much more comfortable for your horse. It is also lighter than leather.
How safe is Beta BioThane compared to leather or nylon?
It is the strongest material available in the equine marketplace. Unlike either leather or nylon each piece of Beta Biothane has been rated & tested for strength & safety..
BioThane can be sewn, welded, or heated just like leather. A leather hole punch will work on Biothane and it can be easily cut with scissors or a utility knife.
How long has Beta BioThane been used in the equine field?
BioThane has been around for more than 30 years! It has been utilized in racing, draft, trail and endurance riding.
How does Beta BioThane hold-up in cold weather?
Just the way you wished leather would! BioThane doesn't harden or crack. It's consistent and much easier to handle.
How much does Beta BioThane weigh?
We surely wouldn't make it heavier than leather, but can you believe it's 20% less? We know everyone can appreciate that!
This is a GREAT halter. Very adjustable and the layer on top is somewhat reflective keeping my horse a little safer at night and also making him easier to find and catch! He has to wear a halter in turnout because he won’t let anyone else catch him without one and this one also doesn’t rub him!
